If you are a restaurant or lodging worker effected by the Coronavirus you may qualify for up to $500 assistance.
The Department of Treasury gave $2.5 million in grant money to the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association.
If you believe you are eligible for this amount, you are encouraged to go to mrlaef.org/relief-fund. The applications will be processed only until no money remains, on a first come first serve basis.
“This important funding will make a difference for thousands of Michigan’s hospitality workers who have been struggling to survive after losing full-time work and high-paying jobs because of the pandemic,” Michigan Restaurant & Lodging Association President and CEO Justin Winslow said in a news release. “More than half of the 600,000 hospitality workers in Michigan temporarily lost their jobs and too many restaurants across the state were unable to reopen after the shutdown.”
The release also stated the Michigan Hospitality Industry Employee Relief Fund launched in April has supplied 375,000 payments to employees in the industry so far.
