On October 19, 2020 officers with Patrol Services arrested 33-year-old Jean-Paul Grenier for possession of stolen property.
At 10:42 a.m. officers responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 300 block of Queen Street East. Complainants reported a person was in a SUV with stolen tools from a nearby construction site in the vehicle.
Upon arrival officers observed the accused in the rear of the vehicle. Officers attempted to speak with him on numerous occasions but he did not respond. At this time officers entered the vehicle to ensure his safety. Once officers were able to speak with him it was determined he was responsive and coherent. Multiple power tools and accessories found in the vehicle were confirmed to be property stolen from a nearby construction site.
He was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on November 30, 2020.
