The Chippewa County Health Department is continuing to monitor what it calls a dramatic increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
Since September 2, the region has seen an increase of more than 30 cases with more than 14,000 tests being administered in that time.
The health department is stressing the importance of taking the proper precautions to guard against infection.
That includes maintaining social distancing, limiting time spent with non-household members, wearing masks, and practicing good hand hygiene.
The latest numbers from the health department show 4 new cases of the coronavirus and 1 new recovered case.
There are 27 cases that are active.
