The Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District is temporarily closing its HS/MS Classroom for Emotionally Impaired students due to COVID-19 exposure.

On Saturday, a school-associated case of the coronavirus was discovered in a student or staff member at the EUPISD Learning Centre.

Therefore, the district has decided to close the learning center for a week, while the rest of the facility will remain open for face-to-face instruction.

EUPISD is working with the Chippewa County Health Department to identify close contacts.

The district points out that this case is isolated to just one classroom, and continues to encourage good hand hygiene and the wearing of masks.
