SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – The city commission met tonight for their regularly scheduled meeting.
The commission voted in favour again to have assessments done on two properties currently in front of the Michigan Tax Tribunal.
If the Tribunal finds against the city.
The potential loss in tax dollars is over $10,000.
The mayor expressed his frustration again with the process and asked people to think before spending money at big box stores.
The cost to have the assessments done is $12,000.
The commission voted to source two sewage flow sensors for a cost of just under $24,000.
The sensors will come from Midwest Municipal Instruments and help with understanding the flow of wastewater in the city.
The item was already budgeted under the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The commission also signed a contract with the History of Hometown Hero’s project.
The project puts banners in the community dedicated to their veterans.
The next commission meeting will be held on November 2, 2020.
