Algoma Public Health is reporting eight new cases of COVID-19 in the district, bringing the total number of cases to 55.
APH lists case #48 as unknown exposure with subsequent cases being close contact. All are self-isolating and that theses recent cases are evidence of ongoing community spread in Sault Ste Marie and area.
None of the cases have travelled outside of Canada. APH reaches out directly to all close contacts – so if you’re not contacted, you are not considered to be at risk.
They’re reminding everyone to guard against infection by maintaining social distance, wearing a mask and limiting contact beyond your household.
