Chippewa County Health Department Urges Residents to Stay Safe after Announcing First Two Fatalities

CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI – On Thursday, November 12th, Chippewa County Health Department received notification of two deaths.

The individuals were an older male and an older female, making them the first two fatalities of COVID-19 in the County. No further information will be released.

Karen Senkus, Health Officer at the Health Department stressed the seriousness of this virus stating “all must work together to protect one another as cases are growing exponentially.”

The health organization asks for residents to wear a face-covering over your mouth and nose, avoid gatherings with anyone outside the home, and to stay home when feeling unwell to reduce the chance of more illness and death.
