Although it’s been a challenging year so far the Christmas Cheer Depot is still going strong.
They held their “Blitz” day on November 28, 2020. They are collecting only new donations this year due to COVID restrictions.
Toys, puzzles and even non-perishable food items are being accepted. They are going out to our most needy families this year.
Families have applied for baskets and applications are selected and processed at the centre.
Chris Barnes is the assistant coordinator for the event.
“Today is our Blitz, we get the public to come in and make donations, we have a group of packers who are packing some of product donated previously,” said Barnes. “It goes to families who have made applications to Christmas Cheer.”
Organizers would like to have all the donations in by December 5. They will be delivering on December 16.
They are open at Station Mall in the former Walmart from 9 a.m. TO 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.
