OLIVE, James “Jim”


November 21, 1929 to November 20, 2020 ~ Surrounded by his loving family, dad passed away at the F.J. Davey Home on Friday, November 20, 2020; one day before his 91st birthday. Dad is reunited with his loving wife of over 66 years, Bertha, who predeceased him in June 2016.

Cherished father of Jimmy Jr. (Sharon), Randall (late Colette), the late Roseanna MacGillivary, Teddy (Rae), Teresa Belanger, Bev Fraser (Alan), Mike (Susan) and Billy (Dot). He was blessed with 17 grandchildren who loved him dearly, the late Shannon, Jeremy, Brian (Jenn), Danielle, Randall Jr., Mark, Tammy Rutledge, Michelle Hayes (Logan), Ted Jr., the late Kylie Rose, Fern Belanger (Autumn), Nicole Belanger, Melissa Slade (Steve), Carly Fraser, Brock (Yohana), Ashley Brown (Corey) and Jakob. He was blessed with 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Remembered fondly by family friend, Johnnie Tibbles. He was the beloved brother of Florence Asselin (late Rolland), late Harriet Deschene (late Freddie), Billie Bois ( late Robert), late Harry (Nora), Winston (Paulette), late Charlie, late Peter (Sandy),and the late Pat (Elaine). Brother in law of the late Beatrice Lacelle ( late John), the late George, late John (late Barbara), Shirley Brunet (Leo), Albert ( late Gladys), and the late Gary.

He spent many years working with the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and was a support network to many people he met.

As per Jim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private burial and family gathering will take place at a later date.

Dad’s family would like thank the caring staff at the F.J. Davey Home for their care and compassion and also to the care providers that supported dad while he was still living at home.
