Small Fire Downtown


A small fire on East Street brought Sault Fire Services downtown over the lunch hour.

Sault Fire Services pumpers 1-4 and the Platoon Commander attended a building in the 100 block of East Street just north of Albert.

Upon arrival smoke and a small fire was found on the second floor according to officials on scene.

Firefighters pulled a hand line and extinguished the fire quickly.

The fire prevention officer attended the scene and firefighters ventilated the building.

Police closed the road for about an hour while fire worked the scene. The cause and damage estimates weren’t known at time of publishing.
