2020 ROTARYFEST Take You Pick Draw winner Norman Beaulieu takes Silverado

Norman and his wife Sylvia received the call they’d been hoping for at 9:00 p.m. sharp this past Saturday: Norman’s ticket had been drawn as the winner of the 2020 ROTARYFEST Take Your Pick Draw. The livestream video of the phone call can be viewed on the ROTARYFEST Facebook page.

Norman is a regular supporter of the Rotary Club’s draw, and bought his winning ticket ten days before the draw from the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Great Northern Road.

“I had that feeling,” said Norman when asked if he was expecting a call on draw day, “when I was working in the yard [on draw day], I kept thinking ‘I wonder what time the draw will be at.’”

Norman took the weekend to go over his options and ultimately chose the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado LT with the 2020 Can-Am XMR Defender side by side with plow and trailer.

Rotary’s Take Your Pick Draw committee was surprised and moved by the amount of support shown by the community during this trying time. “We entered this draw season without a summer festival and without many of our regular selling locations. Our goal going into the draw was to pass breakeven and be able to fulfill our mission of community service and supporting children with physical disabilities,” shared Mark Pavoni, committee co-chair. “At the end of the day we sold just over 12,000 tickets which means we will be able to distribute funds to the charities that rely on us. We couldn’t have done it without the support of our community partners and the thousands of people from Sault Ste. Marie and across the province who bought tickets this year. Thank you!”

Proceeds from the ROTARYFEST Take Your Pick Draw have allowed the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie to invest millions of dollars back into our community through their good works and support of children with physical disabilities. The draw was made possible with the support of Prouse Chevrolet, Maitland Ford Lincoln, Northshore Sports and Auto, and Woody’s Wheels.
