Most people wouldn’t want to give up the security of a paycheque to open up a small business. However, for one Sault Ste. Marie Pharmacist that’s exactly what he did.
Frank Longo has been serving residents in the city’s east end for 30 years at the IDA locations, but as of today – he’s his own boss.
Longo has opened East End Pharmasave in the Churchill Plaza. Longo joins partner Jordan Jack who co-owns West End Pharmasave.
“It has always been a dream of mine to own a pharmacy and I’m finally getting a chance to chase that dream!” Longo tells SaultOnline.com.
Longo is using his 30 years in the business to customize the new venture into a people-friendly environment. “I have developed strong relationships with my customers over the years, so that they have become friends even feeling part of their families, because of that I have a personal interest in the health of these people. We plan on creating a warm welcoming environment to existing and new customers. When you come to our pharmacy, you will be greeted by your first name by our friendly, experienced & knowledgeable staff.”
Longo sees East End Phamasave as a one-stop-shop for his customers, including a walk-in clinic staffed with local doctors that he plans on introducing in the new year.
Longo says he wants to provide a unique brand of personalized health care that will cover all your health needs in one location.
With three other pharmacies located in a small radius, Longo is aware of the stiff competition that surrounds him.
“We offer home health care products, compression products, nutritional supplements, immunizations, medication management, one-on-one patient counselling and medication reviews (med checks). Our pharmacy also offers a wide selection of educational toys and puzzles.” Longo said.
East End Pharmasave is located in the Churchill plaza between the CIBC branch and the DriveTest centre.
