SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – At approximately 9 p.m. Tuesday night, Sault Police Services responded to the area of Chapple Avenue and Albion Street for reports of gunshots fired.
According to Lincoln Louttit, manager of communications for the police service, it wasn’t what it appeared.
“Officers responded to reports of gunshots in the Chapple Avenue area and a man with a long gun,” said Louttit.

No charges???
According to the RCMP:
“A replica firearm is a device that is not a real firearm, but one that was designed to look exactly, or almost exactly, like a real firearm. Replica firearms are prohibited devices in Canada.”
Airsoft is included in that.

What a message to put out there. No wonder crime continues to rise here.
Maybe the replica was a toy and this guy just reports wrong info to stir the pot.
The police communication manager directly stated it was a replica.
You may see this outlet as stirring the pot but this is the type of writing SSM has needed for years. People here need to wake up.
