Sault Ste. Marie is the first City to Welcome New Residents under the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot

Under the new Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot, Sault Ste Marie welcomes two of the first immigrants to land in Canada under this pilot project.

The Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, P.C., M.P., Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship and the Honourable Maryam Monsef, Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Rural Economic Development this morning and provided an update on the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot.

Also in attendance was MP Terry Sheehan and Mayor Provenzano who both welcomed new residents Brilla Mercy Kunjimon and Alexander Liblasua.

Brilla and Alexander are both nurses and excited to be in Canada and especially Sault Ste Marie.
