SSM Police: Public Assistance Requested in Motor Vehicle Collision

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – On November 27, 2020 officers with Patrol Services responded to a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of John Street and St. Georges Avenue West. The collision, involving a white 4-door Toyota Corolla and a gold or tan coloured Chevrolet sedan, took place in the 300 block of John Street.

Both vehicles were travelling northbound, when the white Toyota came to a stop as the vehicle in front of it was waiting to turn west into an area business. At this time, the gold or tan coloured Chevrolet sedan struck the rear of the white Toyota Corolla. The driver and passenger in the Toyota were later transported to hospital with minor injuries.

After the collision, the male driver of the Chevrolet yelled at the driver and passenger in the Toyota and drove away. The man in the Chevrolet is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, Caucasian with a shaved head.

Police are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dash cam or video surveillance of the area at the time of the collision. Anyone with information about the motor vehicle collision is urged to contact Traffic Services at 705-949-6300 ext. 348.
