Expect another round of heavy snow showers that will develop late Wednesday afternoon and early evening. Areas north of the Sault are in a heavy snowfall warning issued by Environment Canada Wednesday morning.
Snow and blowing snow will start in the city late Wednesday afternoon. Visibility could be impacted into the evening hours. 5 to 15cm is expected Wednesday evening into Thursday followed by another low pressure system Thursday afternoon with another 5cm expected.
Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Agawa – Lake Superior Park
- Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected by Thursday morning.
Lake enhanced snow will develop along the northern shore of Lake Superior this morning and spread to the eastern shore in the afternoon.
This snow combined with moderate winds could result in blowing snow, reducing visibilities considerably.
Travel may become particularly hazardous along Highway 17 between Terrace Bay and Batchawana Bay.
Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
