The same vehicle that was involved in the single-vehicle collision at Korah Road and Douglas Street on January 1 was also involved in a similar incident weeks earlier.
The incident occurred on December 18, 2020 when the vehicle went through the fence of Jane Christina on Elizabeth Street. Christina provided pictures of the vehicle in her incident and SaultOnline verified the match.
“We heard a huge crash and what sounded like a vehicle stuck on the road, to our surprise we walked out and found a vehicle in our backyard and our fence blasted through,” said Christina. “This driver was drunk and could barely stand.”
She says the driver proceeded to get stuck again and when confronted was prepared to take a swing at an individual. Police were called but the driver did get away.
Sault Police Service has yet to release information on the driver seen being taken away after Friday’s collision.
If you see an impaired driver you are reminded to call 911 and report it.
