Boat nerds in the area will be saddened to learn of a fire on the Great Lakes Freighter, Roger Blough.

The Roger Blough was one of the few ships which are left who went out in search of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

It caught fire while in harbour in Wisconsin yesterday.

The 858-foot self unloading bulk carrier makes multiple trips through the Soo Locks each year carrying goods along the St. Lawrence Seaway.

There were no injuries to the crew of the ship, a damage estimate with the help of the United States Coast Guard is currently underway.

The future of the ship remains unclear.
