Filling your tank is going to cost you a lot more at the pumps in Sault Ste. Marie.
Prices shot up 10 cents locally making it the highest price at the pumps in 12 months.
Prices rose 10 cents two weeks ago to $1.18 / litre – one of the most expensive in the province. Prices posted today at $1.28.9 cents is more than triple the increase in southern Ontario where prices shot up only 3 cents.
According to Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, parts of the province including Toronto, Ottawa, Peterborough, Niagara, Guelph, London as well as most of Northern Ontario can expect gas prices in Canada are likely to balloon in the coming years.
No explanation of the recent increase and what’s driving the increase in Eastern Canada.
Last year at this time prices bottomed out as the pandemic took hold and lock downs began. Drivers could fill up at a mere 67 cents a litre.
Open the Border now and give Canadians a break at the pumps.
An open Border will bring Sault gas prices down.
Good idea…why not just drop a bomb instead. Without any restrictions in place, it will be a lot faster than Covid-19.Bob
