Missing snowmobiler makes it home safely


Today’s search for a missing snowmobiler has ended the best way possible. According to sources close to Matt Evans, he lost his way and ran out of fuel enroute to his destination.

An angler was able to help Matt out of the back country at which time he was able to send off a text to advise those close to him that he was well and safe.

31-year-old Matt Evans was last seen leaving on his snowmobile from Searchmont highway. He was headed for Halfway Haven at approximately 4:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, according to his girlfriend Allyson Nichole.

She says Sault Ste. Marie Search and Rescue, OPP, Sault Trailblazers and others are out looking for him.

He is on a black snowmobile wearing a black FXR suit with a blue backpack.
