Three Charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Fined under EMCPA

On February 13, 2021 officers with Patrol Services charged 47-year-old Darrel Dowding, 37-year-old Joshua Hyrsky and 27-year-old Tyler Vary with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

At 9:15 a.m. police received a call of a large quantity of tools being stolen from Hampton Road. As the investigation continued officers executed a search warrant at 5:40 p.m. at a residence in the 500 block of Brunswick Avenue. Upon entering the residence the three accused were located and arrested.

A subsequent search of the residence located all of the stolen tools. They were returned to the victim.

Mr. Dowding is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and breach of probation. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 22, 2021.

Mr. Hyrsky is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 29, 2021.

Mr. Vary is charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, breach of recognizance and breach of probation. He was held for WASH court.

The three accused and a fourth person found in the residence were issued provincial offence notices for breaching the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act during a lockdown.
