Apartment fire in the east end


At approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning, Sault Fire Services was called to their second fire in less than 12 hours, this time, on the east end.

According to witnesses, heavy smoke could be seen coming from an apartment building in the 300 block of Dacey Road. They also said they believe everyone got out safely.

Firefighters had the situation under control within minutes of their arrival. approximately 30 people were evacuated from the building while the situation was dealt with.

Sault Police and Paramedics were also on scene.

There is no cause or damage estimate at the time of publishing.
