From Monday, March 1 to Sunday March 7th, 2021, the District of Sault Ste. Marie Social Services Administration Board is proud to celebrate Social Work Week. Social Work Week is an annual celebration of the profession that highlights and brings awareness to the valuable work of approximately 17,000 registered Ontario social workers. This includes Social Services staff who work on the frontlines providing support to community members through challenging times of their lives.
The theme of Social Work Week in 2021 is “You Are Not Alone.”
All of our lives have changed immensely over the past year. Social workers are a crucial lifeline for those struggling with the uncertainty, stress and grief brought on by the global pandemic.
During this week the DSSMSSAB is proud to support our staff, who do the crucial work of keeping our community going every day. Social Services staff provide the expertise, care and support that people in our community need to overcome adversity, heal, and move forward. Their work has never been more important, and we are proud to be able to recognize them this week.
Join us in thanking social workers for all that they do.
