Garden River Child and Family Services invites you and your family to take part in Garden River Idol!
Garden River First Nations residents who wish to participate are to record the family singing/ lip synching and performing to “Can’t Stop the Feeling” by Justin Timberlake. Members off reserve are encouraged to participate!
This is a virtual event, so families are encouraged to get creative and have fun with their videos.
Chief Andy Rickard tells SaultOnline that since COVID, the team at Garden River Child and Family Services have been working hard to create community engaging and accessible programming to families on and off reserve.
Michaela Hill, who works with Garden River Child and Family Services, tells SaultOnline a little bit more about the virtual event:
“Every month, we come up with something for the families so they can unite and get together and just have fun. So we were talking about American Idol, and we said, well, let’s do a GR idol! So we gathered ideas, and this is what we came up with. And it’s just all in all for the families to get together and be one.”
There are also some fun family prizes to be given out to participants and winners.
Call 705-450-5071 ext 221, 222, or 216 to register your family.
Registration for the event ends this Friday March 12, so hurry and sign your family up!
Submissions are due March 16th by 4:30pm.
