Heavy police presence on west side

Earlier today, a heavy police presence on the west side was observed by passers by.

Members from the emergency services unit and patrol units could be seen in the area, roadways in the area were temporarily shut down according to social media posts.

According to Lincoln Louttit, communications manager for Sault Police Services, they were on scene near Albert Street and Huron Street for “possible weapons in the area”.

He said the investigation is ongoing and any further information would be shared as it became available.
