Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected Wednesday Before a Significant Cool Down


A very large Spring system approaching from the U.S. southern states is moving into the Great Lakes will bring a lot of rain into our area with warm temperatures for Wednesday, followed by another system that gives us a shot of snow for Thursday night.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Agawa – Lake Superior Park
Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Locally heavy rain and significant snow melt Wednesday and Wednesday night.

Locally heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area Wednesday into Wednesday night. Local rainfall amounts up to 25 mm are possible. In addition, very mild temperatures will result in rapid snow melt and significant run-off. The combination of locally heavy rain and run-off may result in localized flooding in low lying areas and water pooling on roads.
