At approximately 5:30 p.m. March 6, 2021, Sault Fire Services responded to a call in the 800 block of Trunk Road.

Upon arrival they found heavy smoke conditions, they did not run any lines into the building, although the building was evacuated.

As tenants waited, fire crews ventilated a unit on the third floor of the building. Smoke could be seen coming out a back patio door and windows of the unit.

Pumpers 1-4 and the Platoon Chief were all on scene for the incident.

It is unclear at this time what caused the smoke conditions, or the dollar value of the damage to the unit.

Crews remained on scene for over an hour clearing the smoke, the trucks caused a visual distraction for drivers on Trunk Road, but the road remained open.
