Yesterday, a small but spirited group of individuals took to the streets of Jamestown.

The approximately dozen people were competing in a garbage collection challenge put on by Safe Space.

From noon until 1 p.m. March 20, 2021 they took garbage bags and biohazard containers throughout the area around the Soup Kitchen.

“It needs to be a safe place for everyone. So with there being children and adults around the garbage just doesn’t look nice. And it just makes it safer,” said Michelle McDonald one of the participants.

The winner with the most bags was given a $20 Tim’s Card for their efforts.
