Local Gas Prices Shoot Past $1.30 a litre

The temperature may be rising, but so are local gas prices.  SaultOnline.com and ONNtv  has learned that prices have shot up once again, this time to $1.33.9 a litre as of Tuesday afternoon .

Presently, McDougall Energy  is the only gas station showing higher prices, but it’s expected others to follow suit.

Last week prices jumped 10 cents from $1.18 a litre to $128.  Prices declined shortly after , resting at the $1.25  mark .   In comparison, prices last year at this time began to fall as the pandemic and first lock down took hold over the country.  Prices then fell to a 15 year low of .68 cents a litre  . This won’t be the last increase, another 4 cents a litre will be placed on the gas of fuel come April 1st, as the second installment of the Trudeau carbon tax comes into play.

  1. Really hate to say it but the boarder needs to open up to drive prices down here until then where going to get gouge till the very end

  2. Just wait until the border opens 🙂
Yes! You have to pay bridge fair.
But the shopping in the States is like 🤗😃🙂

Eventually I will get the 45 MPG vehicle, just not ready yet. When the time comes that gas is $2.00 a litre, it will even it all out from a 18 MPG vehicle.

  3. There have been no world events to cause a price jump. THIS IS SIMPLY GREED ON THE PART OF YOU KNOW WHO. IT IS INTERESTING HOW THE PRICE CAN JUMP 10 CENTS OVERNIGHT BUT never COMES DOWN BY 10 CENTS OVERNIGHT.
