The 53rd annual St. Joseph Island Maple Syrup Festival will go ahead!
The festival will take place over the first two weekends in May, 1 & 2, and 8 & 9 by reservation only. There are four sittings available each day: 8:30 am, 10 am, 11:30am, and 1pm. Tables should be no more than six people in the same bubble.
The festival has been pushed back a month later than usual in order to ensure COVID guidelines can be followed.
The festival will look a little different this year, but locals are excited to have this long-running event back after the cancelation last year.
Visitors will be escorted to their tables and volunteer servers will be making rounds with all you can eat pancakes and sausages.
Maple syrup will be portioned and individually given out in place of the usual jugs on the tables. But worry not, the maple syrup will be flowing and refills will be offered when ever needed.
This event also falls on Mother’s Day, so it’s a great way to get out of the house and celebrate safely while supporting locals.
Local Maple Syrup vendors will be in attendance selling their products in the lounge, separate from the eating area.
The Legion encourages people in the Algoma Region to safely attend this community event and support our local maple syrup producers.
