UPDATE – Gloucester fire deemed suspicious ( with video )

As we reported yesterday, a fire broke out on Gloucester Street around 2:20 p.m..

SaultOnline has been in contact with Sault Police Services Communications Manager Lincoln Louttit.

He confirmed the scene is still under investigation as the fire is deemed suspicious in nature.

“As you are aware there was a fire in the 200 block of Gloucester Street yesterday, a suspect was identified and arrested later that evening,” said Louttit. “It’s unfortunate in the loss of life of a pet, we understand the public wants to know more but we have a balancing act to do when it comes to how much information we share in order to keep the integrity of the process. There will be no further information provided on this incident.

SaultOnline would like to share our condolences to the family who lost the pet in the fire.
