Hang onto your hats! there’s a big wind storm brewing and Sault Ste. Marie will say good-bye to April with some very strong winds developing overnight into Friday.
Plenty of sun will accompany the, almost-gale force blasts, as gusts could reach close to 80 km/h at times. Meanwhile, sustained winds of 20 to 30 km/h can be expected.
Environment Canada has issued a weather statement for Friday for Sault Ste. Marie and St. Joseph Island.

Strong wind gusts early Friday morning into Friday afternoon.
Strong northwesterly winds gusting between 70 and 80 km/h are forecast to develop early Friday morning across the area. These strong winds will continue into Friday afternoon before easing.
These strong winds will toss loose objects and may cause some tree branches to break. Isolated power outages are also possible.
