TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired right-handed pitcher Jeremy Beasley from the Arizona Diamondbacks for cash considerations and optioned him to their alternate training site.
Right-handed pitcher Thomas Hatch was transferred to the 60-day injured list with a right elbow impingement to make room for Beasley on Toronto’s 40-man roster.
The 25-year-old Beasley made his only career major league appearance on Aug. 11 last season, striking out one of the three batters he faced for Arizona before he suffered a season-ending right shoulder injury.
The six-foot-three, 235-pound right-hander pitched in three games spring training games this year and was assigned to the Diamondbacks’ alternate training site until he was designated for assignment on April 17.
The native of Lyons, Ga., was a 30th-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Angels in 2017 and has a 16-15 record with a 3.56 earned-run average over 68 minor-league games.
