“Potential Firearms call” closes downtown street

At approximately 9 a.m. this morning, SaultOnline was alerted to a police presence in the downtown core.

Upon arrival, Police could be seen on Manilla Terrace, which was shut down between Gore and Albert Street.

Patrol units were at the scene on Manilla, which saw one person handcuffed.

Lincoln Louttit, communications manager for Sault Police Services, commented;

“Officers are on scene at the moment of a potential firearms call, we believe this is an isolated incident,” said Louttit. “As it is an active investigation, we are asking the public to avoid the area.”

Louttit also stated that there is no danger to the greater community.
