If approved Monday, a local company will win the tender for the purchase of the truck for public works.

TMS Truck Centre was the lowest bidder for the project which will provide a 2022 Western Star 4700SB vacuum truck to the city. Funding in the amount of $875,000.00 remains within Public Works Sanitary Sewer Surcharge Funds approved within 2021 Budget deliberations.

The truck will come with a 2-year warranty on the water pump, 5 year on the debris tank/compressor/vacuum devise and 10 years on the water tank according to the report to council.

If awarded, TMS will have beat out the next bid by approximately $30,000 and will deliver the vehicle in 290 days.

  1. Dan, it is essential that you make it a priority to investigate and report on any potential purchases on the grounds of whether it meets the carbon reduction standards that are critical for our survival. This would add to the necessary paradigm shift in the Community and be a catalyst to ethical decision making by the Council.
