Fire Closes Albert Street West

At approximately 2:55 p.m., Sault Fire received a call requesting their assistance with a building showing smoke just outside of the downtown.

Upon arrival in the 300 block of Albert Street West they encountered a structure with smoke showing from the upper floor window.

Fire crews entered the structure and quickly brought the flames under control. At one time all 15 firefighters were on scene doing various jobs required. The Platoon Chief was also on scene directing fire operations.

Albert street west was completely blocked for a short period of time while the situation was taken care of.

A fire investigator and police are now on location to determine the cause, there appeared to be no injuries in this fire.
