Sault College provided an update to the ongoing issues via their social media platforms over the weekend.
According to their Instagram account:
“At the present time, the College continues to work hard to restore College systems and investigate the impact of the attack. As we continue this work, certain information technology services remain suspended to protect our network. Our goal is to restore operations as soon as possible.”
A frequently asked questions page has been provided by the College. On the page they say that many other institutions as were targeted by an attempted cyber attack.
“At present we do not have any evidence that personal information was impacted, but the investigation is still in its early stages. If we obtain information that personal information was impacted, we will provide updates accordingly,” says the site. “We do not have any indication that credit card or any payment type information has been compromised.”
The page says they have retained industry-leading cyber forensics team to investigate and get the system back up and running. There is no timeline for complete restoration of services.
A list of what is available is also on the website.
