At approximately 9:45 a.m. this morning, Emergency Services responded to reports of a collision on Great Northern Road.

Upon arrival, outside the McDonald’s entrance, it was confirmed that two vehicles had made contact in the northbound and left turn lanes.

Both vehicles were eventually moved off the roadway by police and firefighters cleaned up the fluids which had leaked on to the pavement.

An ambulance could be seen leaving the scene but it is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident.

Great Northern Road was slowed for about 30 minutes while the situation was dealt with.

Time to clamp down HEAVILY on careless and inattentive driving, and increasing the fines and demerit points for these offenders that are making our insurance rates ridiculously high for those who have never even had a claim. Glad to see you are referring to these as collisions and not accidents because they are not accidents when they are avoidable.
