Collision slows traffic in the west end

A truck sits wrecked against a concrete barrier in the west end, July 26, 2021 (Dan Gray/

Around 9:15 a.m. this morning, Emergency Services were called to the intersection of Huron Street and Cathcart.

Upon arrival they located a blue pick-up truck that had apparently driven into a concrete barrier on the south-east corner.

One person was taken to hospital. The cause is still under investigation.

The incident has since been cleared.

  1. It’s got to be true when there are multiple collisions every week, they really are putting drivers licenses in Cracker Jack boxes.

    • Right now there is a HUGE backlog of people waiting for licenses. They may have to start putting them in cases of beer.

  2. I had to chuckle.
In the first photo, the last line on the firetruck is what did it.
Two days ago my smoke alarm beeped at me to “feed” it another 9v battery.
