Fire Alarm adds to busy morning

Sault Fire Services attend an alarm in Jamestown, July 26, 2021 (Dan Gray/

In addition to the stabbing on Bruce Street, an accident on Huron Street and the fire in the North end, Sault Fire Services also attended one more scene this morning.

Fire Services were made aware of alarms going off at a Sault Area Housing Corporation building in the 500 block of Albert Street West.

Upon arrival nothing was immediately visible at the address, however a witness told SaultOnline they thought they smelled smoke when they left the building.

We reached out to Sault Area Housing and spoke with Maegan Brennan, Communications Manager.

Brennan told us she wasn’t aware of any significant event at the location this morning and believes it was most likely a false alarm.

Fire Crews remained on scene until a manager from housing could arrive.
