Gateway Casino Sault Ste. Marie will reopen Friday at 9 a.m. with occupancy set at 50% of floor capacity, according to a release issued by the casino.
Entry is first-come, first-served. Enter by the main entrance only.
Certain restrictions will be enforced such as, guests must wear masks, and contact tracing and COVID-19 attestation are required for entry.
Gateway has stated that all machines will be disinfected regularly. Hand sanitizer stations will also be available.
Live table games will not be available. A limited selection of food and beverages can be purchased.
Casinos across the country were mandated to close due to COVID-19 in March of 2020. B.C. remains the only jurisdiction in North America that has completely refused to permit casinos to re-open (even in a restricted manner) during the COVID-19 pandemic.
