UPDATED: Sault Fire responds to residential fire in Airport area

Sault Fire Services reponds to residential fire

On Sunday, July 4th, 2021, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service crews responded to a call of a residential garage fire in the 100 block of Alagash Drive.

Upon arrival, crews found a fully involved detached garage fire. Fire crews were able to contain the fire.

Upon investigation, a SSMFS Fire Prevention Officer determined the cause of the fire was associated with a lawn tractor.

The damage to the garage was extensive. The fire is not deemed suspicious. There were no injuries reported.

 

Earlier Story on July 4th @ 3:29 p.m. – Sault Fire responds past airport for fire

At approximately 1 p.m. this afternoon Sault Fire Services were called to the extreme west end of our city.

Thanks to a reader, SaultOnline has learned that a garage out at Pointe Louise caught fire. The damage appeared to be confined to just the garage area.

Sault Fire Services are still on scene of the incident.

  1. What a drag! Nothing quite like losing your garage and everything inside to fire. A lot of stuff simply can’t be replaced. Newer isn’t always better, that’s for sure!
