Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario – Passenger traffic in June saw an increase from May but remains down over 87% from 2019 levels. A passenger movement comparison:
Terry Bos, SSMADC President & CEO stated: “The trend in passenger levels is certainly encouraging and the aircraft arrivals later in the month certainly seemed fuller. With Air Canada adding a second daily flight in Mid-July and Porter’s announced return of two daily flights in October, the future is finally starting to look more optimistic for a return to travel.”

Bearskin Airlines continues to operate 2 daily flights Sunday and 4 daily flights Monday to Friday. Air Canada Express effective July 13th will now be offering two flights daily. This is still a major decrease in flight options compared to July of 2019 when Air Canada was flying 5 daily flights, Porter was flying 3 flights daily Sunday to Friday and one on Saturday, and Bearskin was flying 5 flights daily Monday and Friday, 6 daily flights Tuesday and Wednesday, 7 on Thursday, 0 on Saturday, and 2 on Sunday.
