A Soggy Start To The Weekend

A slow moving warm front is behind a wave of showers that could leave behind a fairly wet weekend.

The warm front will however , return our temperatures back to above seasonal values for Saturday and Sunday and though it may feel like summer weather, it won’t look it with mainly cloudy conditions and periods of rain and small thunderstorms.

Special weather statement in effect for:

Sault Ste. Marie – St. Joseph Island
Searchmont – Montreal River Harbour – Batchawana Bay
Locally heavy rainfall likely tonight through Saturday morning.

Heavy rainfall with amounts generally reaching 30 to 60 mm. Isolated amounts in excess of 60 mm possible.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move across the area tonight through Saturday morning. Plenty of moisture in the atmosphere will help to ensure that the rain will be heavy at times.

Rainfall Warnings may be required for portions of the area.

  1. What a useless forecast for the weekend, or anytime for that matter! I have never seen forecasts as far off as they have been this summer!!! Take a guess and you have a better chance of being right!!!

  2. I agree, When Environment Canada issued the statement, I wondered, why? most of it pushed through Michigan into the Nickle Belt…. could still see some thunderstorms develop Saturday night into Sunday however.
