Emergency brings crews to waterfront (photos)

At approximately 9:10 p.m. Tuesday, local emergency services were notified of a situation on the waterfront near the Delta Hotel.

Upon arrival, firefighters from Sault Fire Services located an individual who had fallen in the St. Mary’s River.

Crews retrieved a ladder from pumper three and placed it in the water to facilitate the woman’s safe rescue. They then proceeded to help the individual up the ladder and over to the proper side of the guard rail.

According to one witness, the individual appeared unsteady before they fell into the water.

Paramedics could be seen treating the individual while Sault Police Services took statements from individuals who were witness to the incident.

  1. How about some credit to the citizen fishing nearby who came to this persons rescue and held her with his fishing net for 10 minutes before fire services showed up. Heros are found in many places other than emergency services and this one should have been mentioned in this article.
