Man Arrested in Relation to Catalytic Converter Theft


On August 25, 2021 officers with the Crime Suppression Unit charged 38-year-old Brandon Bennett with theft under $5,000.

In the morning of August 25, 2021 police received a call reporting the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the Trunk Road area. An investigation was launched and as a result, officers developed grounds to believe the accused was a suspect in the theft of a catalytic converter.

Around 2:30 p.m. officers observed the accused attending a business in 200 block of McNabb Street and later observed the accused leaving the business without attempting to pay for items. He was arrested.

He is charged with theft under $5,000 in relation to the theft of the catalytic converter and is also charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime in relation to theft from the business. He was released by way of an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on October 18, 2021.
