Sault Police request public help for weekend stabbing

Emergency Services were called, early Saturday morning, for reports of an altercation in the downtown core.

Upon arrival in the 100 block of East Street, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Police encountered an individual who had been stabbed.

Sault Police Communications Manager, Lincoln Louttit, sent this e-mail to SaultOnline in response to a request for comment.

“Officers responded to reports of a stabbing in the 100 block of East Street around 12:20 a.m. on August 14, 2021. Upon arrival officers located one person with non-life threatening injuries. EMS also attended at the scene. Officers are currently investigating this incident,” said Louttit.

  1. Would have to agree with the other poster that police presence in the downtown core is far from adequate.
    Quite a few of the people inhabiting the downtown core and Gore street to the underpass area are downright frightening, many are violent, with addiction and mental health issues. The city continues to ignore this and would rather spend multi-millions on a downtown plaza when there are numerous other serious issues that take precedence. As long as mayor Pumpkinhead is at the helm nothing will change for the better.

  2. One address is a known ‘problematic’ area & the other is a newly created ‘safe space’ facility run by community service providers.. my point is not so much about the ‘photo’.

    But thanx for pointing that out for me John.. where would we be with-out your insight.

  3. Not sure why you were given a picture of the Genita Units on Albert Street..

    The address your looking for is the old Down Towner Motel. It’s now a safe space Mental Health & Addictions facility at 137 East Street, just sayin’.
