No need to double-check your calendar, sadly it is not Friday, however, it is time for 705 Sports! Dan Gray is back with me again to talk about everything that is going on in the sports world. As per usual, we start the show with our poll question, are you happy the NHL is going to the Olympics? You are invited to leave your answer in the comment section.
As we move forward in the first segment, Dan and I take a sneak peek at some players who might be on Team Canada & Team USA and as usual, Dan and I don’t agree on all of our picks. We then move off the ice and onto the diamond. Last week, Dan and I both felt the Jay’s playoff hopes were numbered; however, something changed over the weekend that may have altered our opinions on this.
In the second segment, I sit down with Jamie Henderson, the coach & general manager for the Sault Thunderbirds. We talk about everything that is going on with the team and what to expect for the upcoming season, including whether or not body checking will be back in the Northern Jr Hockey League.
In the third segment, Dan and I discuss everything that has been going on in the CFL. We recap the 5th week as I pretend the Argo game never happened. Dan and I both go over our match of the week for the 5th round of this season. We then jump ahead to week 6 and break down all the games, which includes some rematches from last week. Dan and I again renew our little rivalry as supporters, respectively, of the Tiger-Cats and the Argos. To close the show, we talk about the Soo Greyhounds getting back on the ice in front of fans for the first time in over 18 months. I dissect what I saw from the team at the Red and White game. The team did look good however, there still are a few things that I feel the Hounds need to work on going forward.
