Firefighters respond to dinner hour blaze (13 photos)

Moments after 6 p.m., Sault Fire Services received a call for a fire in the downtown portion of the city.

Upon arrival in the 0-100 block of Herrick Street, fire services encountered heavy smoke coming from the side of the building.

SaultOnline has learned that a fire broke out in the kitchen area of the home. According to witnesses no one was seriously injured in the blaze.

Sault Fire Services remained on scene for over an hour dealing with the incident.
