Ontario is seeing fewer than 600 new cases of COVID-19 for second day

There are 593 new cases of COVID-19 being reported in Ontario.

Health officials say 447 cases are in individuals who are not fully vaccinated, or have an unknown vaccination status, and 146 are in fully vaccinated individuals.

Wednesday’s case count is up from the 577 reported the day before.

There are four additional deaths reported as well, plus one death reported from last month due to a data cleanup.

Toronto is reporting 141 new cases, 61 infections are in Peel and 39 case are in York.

Ontario’s health minister says there are 84.6 per cent of eligible residents with one dose of a vaccine and nearly 78.4 per cent have two doses.

Christine Elliott says 346 people are hospitalized with the virus, 311 are not fully vaccinated, or have an unknown vaccination status, and 35 are fully vaccinated.

188 people are in ICU, 178 are not fully vaccinated, or have an unknown vaccination status, and 10 are fully vaccinated, Elliott.

    • You have fun with those restrictions you keep crying about . I’ll be out and about as usual. Maybe you and stevie can hold each other’s hands in the basement lol.

    • Remember these are “positive tests”, not symptomatic cases.
      This includes positive cases that indicated a positive at a high cycle count (eg 25/26) and tested negative on a re-rest.
      It also often includes historical positive tests from previous months, not to forget the Ontario government has acknowledged a 50% false positive.
      In reality (i.e. outside the media/MMOs according to the CDC) the numbers are potentially far lower.

      • how about the hospitalizations, icu admissions , and the deaths. Are they far lower as well . People seem to decipher whatever they like from the numbers given. Perhaps your reality is unreal?

        • Actually yes, they’re inflated by MMO’s also.
          Check CDC’s covidnet which explains it.
          Starts off clarifying that pediatric covid cases are NOT significantly increasing contrary to what MMO’s and reporting.
